Machine Learning Engineer (Senior/Junior)
JOB PROFILE
Type: Fixed-term contract
Start date: 1 January 2025 (or as soon as possible after that)
Location: remote, with regular in-person meetings in the Lausanne area
Duration: 3 years (renewal possible)
Percentage: 60%-100%
Travel: Travel within Switzerland may be required

DESCRIPTION
You will be expected to:
Conduct R&D on and experiment with machine learning models to find the right solution given a client’s requirement;
Lead on the design and development of machine-learning applications;
Evaluate, monitor, and maintain ML applications in production.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a candidate with:
Strong machine learning skills, particularly with neural networks and Large Language Models;
Strong Python coding skills;
Strong competencies in the evaluation, documentation, and release of machine learning data and models, including in open source;
Experience with at least one machine learning framework, e.g., PyTorch;
Experience with vector databases;
Experience with containers (e.g., Docker);
A cooperative attitude in working collaboratively with other team members;
Full working proficiency in English (fluency in French and/or Italian is a plus).
We look favourably at candidates with:
a PhD in Computer Science or related fields (required for a senior appointment);
experience with machine-assisted software development (e.g., copilot);
experience with machine learning and/or data science;
an interest in the cultural and creative sectors.
